As Catholics, we know that the Holy Eucharist is the source and summit of our faith: it is the Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Jesus comes to us in a unique way in the Eucharist. When He comes, we receive Him into our body and our soul. This is very beautiful, personal, and intimate. We should not take it for granted!
At Catholic Weymouth, First Holy Communion preparation is a two-year process, beginning with a year of enrollment in the Faith Formation program. If you would like your child to receive their First Holy Communion in 2nd Grade, they should be enrolled in Faith Formation in the 1st Grade.
We have divided the catechesis sessions into two parts. The first will help us know our faith more deeply, and the second will focus on how to live it through the liturgy, the sacraments, and prayer.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Your presence at each of the meetings is mandatory. Absences must be duly justified by parents/guardians.Sessions 1 - 8: What do we believe?
