Fr. Huy Nguyen ([email protected])
Fr. Huy is a native of Vietnam and received his priestly formation at St. John Seminary, Brighton. He was ordained in 2009 and served as a Parochial Vicar at Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta, St. Peter’s and Holy Family Parishes, Dorchester (2009-2013), and Parochial Vicar at Saint Jerome and Immaculate Conception Parishes, Weymouth (2013-2018). In 2018 Fr. Huy was appointed Pastor at Saint Jerome and Immaculate Conception Parishes.
Kevin Muldoon, Vice Chair ([email protected])
Kevin and his wife Tricia, moved to the south shore in 1976 and became involved with Immaculate Conception Parish. Both have served in many ministries over the years. Besides serving on the Collaborative Parish Council, Kevin also serves as a Lector, Extraordinary Minister and Altar Server. Kevin and Tricia have 4 boys, who now have their own families and have given them 13 wonderful grandchildren.
Deacon Timothy Maher
Born and raised in nearby Dorchester, Deacon Tim came to Saint Jerome Parish in 2011 as his first assignment following ordination to the Diaconate. He is also assigned to the Pro-Life Office for the Archdiocese of Boston. He serves on the Collaborative Parish Council. Deacon Tim recently retired after over 40 years’ service at Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences University where he was the Sawyer Professor of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Associate Dean of Graduate Studies. He and his wife Barbara live in Newton and have 4 children and 8 grandchildren.
Karen Bruynell
Karen is a lifelong Weymouth resident and has been a parishioner of Saint Jerome since 1964 where she received all of her sacraments. In 1996 she joined Immaculate Conception where her children began Faith Formation. Over the years Karen taught Religious Education, taught the children’s liturgy, chaperoned teens to World Youth Days in Sydney and Spain, served on the Marriage Prep Team for many years and she is an Extraordinary Minister. She has been serving as a member of the Collaborative Parish Council since 2019. Karen is always willing to give a hand to any parish project! She has been married to Buddy Bruynell for 35 years and has three wonderful children. She has her Masters in Management and works full-time at Brigham and Women's Hospital. Karen enjoys spending time with family and friends, running, working out at the gym, crafting, reading and decorative baking.
Franni LaRosee
Franni has been a Saint Jerome parishioner since 1977 when she and her husband bought their home in North Weymouth. She served as a PTO President for Saint Jerome School and was a SJS School Board Member. Franni is a member of the Collaborative Parish Council and volunteers in assisting the Office Manager and Religious Formation Group. She can be found in whatever capacity is she is needed.
Helena Madden
Helena was born in Dorchester but has lived in Weymouth most of her life. She grew up in Sacred Heart Parish and joined Immaculate Conception in 1977. She has 2 grown children who live in Rhode Island and Vermont, and 2 grandchildren who live in New York City and Colorado. Helena is honored to serve on the Collaborative Parish Council and as a Lector, Extraordinary Minister, Altar Server, or wherever needed. She is a graduate of Northeastern University and Boston University School of Medicine. Helena works in Regulatory Affairs in a biopharmaceutical company and in her spare time enjoys long walks with her dogs, gardening, cooking, and quilting.
Mike Ruggere
Mike was born and raised in Dorchester, first in St. Peter’s Parish, then in St. Gregory’s. As a member of St. Peter’s children choir, he was chosen to attend St. Paul Choir School from grades 5 through 8. Mike married Rosemary in 1983, and they moved to Immaculate Conception Parish in 1993, where they raised their son and daughter. The couple are currently Extraordinary Ministers for the parish. Mike has also been involved in the music ministry of numerous parishes over the years. In 2021, Mike retired from the Boston Fire Department after 32 years of service; his final position was Deputy Chief in charge of the Special Operations Division, which plays an integral role in the Emergency Management Program of the city.
Jack Ryan
Jack grew up in Charlestown and moved to Dorchester when he married his wife, Jan, a brief 53 years ago. They are richly blessed with four children and nine grandchildren. Jack was a Lector and Extraordinary Minister in St. Brendan’s Parish. After 45 years, he moved to Weymouth in 2014 before retiring from the State House in 2015. Jack serves on the Collaborative Parish Council and is a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 729. He and his wife are Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion to the homebound. They also enjoy delivering Meals-on-Wheels in the Weymouth area. Jack especially loves being a professional magician and bringing joy to all ages through his shows around New England.
Kevin Walsh
Kevin Walsh, a Brockton native, has been in the Immaculate Conception Parish since 1985. Kevin attended the University of Notre Dame and the Notre Dame Law School, and has been a practicing civil litigation attorney since 1983. In addition to serving on the Collaborative Parish Council since 2021, Kevin served for many years as a basketball coach for the Immaculate youth league, has been a long-time host of the Collaborative’s cable television show, worked as an assistant writer and photographer for the former Immaculate Conception newsletter, and participated for several years in the parish Saturday morning mens’ group. Kevin and his wife, Maureen, have three sons.
